Starting several years ago as John Pritchard Cuisine - we began to book weddings, events, private chef and in home catering services with a skeleton crew of casual help. After being approached by my daughter's school in the mid-2000s, JPC added school meal production to our list of services, not knowing that this would begin a trend that would grow to thousands of meals being produced every month for school food programs, community and province based food security initiatives.
This community inspired production has given John Pritchard Cuisine purpose, beyond our immediate fiscal goals and continues to play an active role in our business model with thousands of free meals being distributed annually to groups such as Gifts From The Heart, Charlottetown and Montague Community Fridges, Drop in Centers, etc...wherever there is a need.
Further to those efforts, JPC also supports a number of charitable groups including The Stars for Life Foundation &The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation among others. Community support is at the core of our values.

Passion, dreams and a certain amount of impulsiveness are the seeds of innovation. We're passionate about ingredients and where they come from. We're passionate about great service and the people who contribute to our ideas, We dream of delivering products and concepts yet unexplored or delivered in our region. We dream of inspiring others to aim high in this industry by paying attention to the minutia. And, we're impulsive enough to repeatedly take risks to deliver on the dreams we have. John Pritchard has been a local innovator on the food scene starting when Farm to Table Cuisine was just called great food. Along with partners, he started producing artisanal salami 'en mass' for the first time in the region, evolving into a high end locally driven restaurant/epicurean food market which also produced and served the first Gelato in PEI, and the first handmade in-house chocolate production in PEI - This venture garnered attention from all over North America and beyond and was reviewed and rated at the top of its class in all categories. So what happened to it? It closed!
Would we do it again? Probably... but, with the knowledge gained from the first round and with new features to excite our guests again, for the first time. This part is the creative impulse..... and the risk. Selling the 'tried and true' is not innovation.

John Pritchard has been cooking a long time! Getting his start in Prince Edward Island he relied solely on the market gardeners and organic producers in the area to provide the best quality product available. This approach has persisted throughout his career, spanning three countries over three decades.
From intimate French Bistros to Multi Outlet Luxury Resorts, Chef Pritchard's cuisine has drawn critical acclaim from International publications, celebrity chefs, and diners from all over the world. With a string of awards for his dedication to utilizing the best local product in deliciously innovative ways, Chef Pritchard has always considered local farmers, fishers and producers to be his collaborators. Our Commitment to Local Food and Community
Great things don't happen without a lot of work.
When it comes to where our food comes from, that's a drastic understatement. The people that sow, grow, raise, harvest, fish and forage are the heroes of our story.
Without these passionately driven 'food warriors' our world would literally cease to exist, let alone the possibility of getting an amazingly fresh arugula salad with heirloom tomatoes.
It's with that spirit we need to recognize all the hardworking folks that get all this great product to our tables and give us the opportunity to share it.
